Child and Adolescent Units |Small Classroom Setting

We are looking to bring on board 2 passionate teachers to assist with our child and adolescent units!
The position involves working with students in a small classroom setting to help support them academically while they are out of school and receiving treatment. These students are attending a partial or inpatient program while they’re receiving treatment for a variety of mental concerns including development disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other maladaptive disorders. Part of their structured day is to receive up to 2 hours of educational instruction.
Two full time teachers are available- one working with the elementary aged students, and one working with adolescent aged students. The child units house students between the ages of 5-12 years old. There will be three different child aged classes, each consisting of groups between 8-15 students. One child class will be an hour in length, and the other two classes will be 2 hours each.
The adolescent units house students between the ages of 13-18 years old. There will be two different adolescent aged classes, each consisting of groups between 8-10 students. Both of these classes will be 2 hours each.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Teaching multiple classes in small group settings
• Creating lesson plans and obtaining school curriculum for each child
• Working with children on their individual school curriculum
• Communicating with hospital staff
• Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student
• Communicating with student’s teachers and schools about progress
These roles are 8 hours per day, for 10 months of the year. Your day will consist of 4-5 hours of class instruction, and 3-4 hours of administrative time.
